Alicia & Cameron | Lowndes Grove Plantation

Alicia and Cameron, Maryland dwellers, may not live in our zip code but they certainly know how to throw a shindig, Charleston-style. We will get to that bit later but for starters, how about a little background on our darlings of the day? The pair met around Halloween, one of their favorite times of year, while sipping on red wine at a vineyard. It wasn’t long after the initial encounter that the two took a couple’s (& husky pup) trip to Florida where Cameron bent the knee. Though both barely remember what exactly was said in the actual proposal, Alicia without a doubt said yes. The duo up and traveled down to Charleston, where Cameron grew up, to say their I do’s, lured down South by our city’s romantic and plentiful natural elements. Between vibrant sunsets and dreamy oaks, why wouldn’t you host your Big Day here? This duo didn’t want their own design to outshine the natural beauty of Lowndes Grove Plantation, so they kept their palette super simple, dressing their bridal party in B&W. Anything is instantly made a bit classier when in black and white, and Alicia and Cameron’s nuptials definitely brought on the timeless, Old Hollywood glamour. As for details, stunning greenery hung over the backs of chairs at the reception, guests ate in the glow of candlelight on lengthy farm tables encouraging group conversation, and a blazing sunset in the evening lived up to all expectations. Swoon city, folks. The new Mr. and Mrs. departed their reception through a tunnel of sparklers brandished by family and friends—fitting as the spark between these newlyweds is undeniable. Long live love!
