Amanda & Matt | Lowndes Grove Plantation



Office acquaintances, Amanda and Matt, turned friends at a karaoke work party. One evening after said work party, the pair strolled by the Empire State Building (at 1 a.m., mind you). Matt spontaneously bought two tickets to the top, and before they knew it, they were in a private elevator heading on up. These night owls were (not) surprisingly the only two on the observation deck, where they found themselves sharing their first kiss. After making it official atop the skyline of New York City, Amanda and Matt spent the next five years changing jobs, moving apartments, and becoming cat owners. One rainy Saturday in May, the two cozied up to watch their favorite Youtube series, “True Facts,” which takes a look into the lives of obscure animals. This one was different. Matt pressed play and the video opened with “True Facts of the Amanda,” ending with why “The Matt” was the perfect mate for “The Amanda.” Cue the “awws.”  The proposal was followed with a weekend of family time and engagement celebrations. Amanda grew up vacationing at Isle of Palms and knew instantly she wanted to wed in Charleston. A wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation was on the calendar, but was rescheduled so as to stay out of Hurricane Florence’s way. Fast-forward two months and the celebration was back on, showcasing Amanda and Matt’s personalities . . . and Matt’s karaoke career.
