Anna & Bobby | Country Club of Charleston

Even though Anna, a Wilmington native, and Bobby, who is from Mount Pleasant, dated for over four years after swiping right on each other, they never really talked about getting married … they just assumed it would happen one day. That’s not to say Bobby wasn’t secretly scheming, though. One 80-degree day in February 2018, the two couldn’t resist taking a cruise around Charleston Harbor on Bobby’s fishing boat (the “Mo’ Better II”). Anna wanted to take a picture of the Ravenel Bridge, so Bobby suggested she sit at the front of the boat with their black lab, Cooper, who was along for the ride, and he would snap a photo of the pair. Instead, once Anna was settled at the front of the boat, he got down on one knee. “I remember thinking I didn’t want that moment to end,” says Anna. When they got back to the dock, both her and Bobby’s families were waiting to celebrate. The pair chose to hold their wedding at the Country Club of Charleston because while it’s a spacious venue, it is still warm and welcoming. In terms of wedding planning, the bride admits, “I wish I could take the credit, but my mom was the brains behind the majority of the wedding. She is super creative and always has the best ideas.” Anna (and her mom) worked with WED to pull off the sleek black-and-white celebration. Oh, and see the sweet couple perched atop the monogrammed cake from Delicious Desserts? They may look like Anna and Bobby, but they’re really Anna’s parents. “The cake topper was actually the cake topper my parents used, and I wanted to keep the tradition going,” she says. It doesn’t get mo’ better than that.
