Anna & Jeff | Regatta Inn

Both our bride and groom grew up along the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, but in cities over 700 miles apart—Anna in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and Jeff on Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. When you’re raised on the water, the water always feels like home, so one glance at Folly Beach’s Regatta Inn was all it took … alternate venues need not apply. Falling in love, on the other hand, took more than a glance. Anna (a paralegal at the time) and Jeff (a recently relocated attorney) met while working at the same law firm. Anna moved on to graduate school for speech-language pathology, but a serendipitous Saint Patrick’s Day parade brought them back together and love ensued. Jeff planned to propose by getting Anna to join him in walking their dog, Hazel, along The Battery. Anna simply wasn’t interested that night (oh, the hazards of surprises!), but Jeff persisted. A last-ditch plea got Anna outside in their courtyard, and voila! … a successful Jeff and an ecstatic Anna—together, an engaged couple. For their waterside wedding, the bride’s big ask was color, and lots of it. The wildflower-inspired florals were on point, and even the setting sun got the memo (hello, multi-colored extravaganza). “I just remember being so happy the entire time,” Anna reminisces. The happy train continued through the second-to-last stop: a grand exit with Toto’s “Africa,” a Marvelous Mrs. Maisel-inspired outfit change, and a surprise golf cart getaway. Final stop: wedded bliss.
