Bridgitt & Hayden | The Cedar Room

Bridgitt and Hayden met and became fast friends during their sophomore year of college at Wake Forest University. More than five years later, the duo got engaged on its campus which is sweeter than sweet considering Bridgitt didn’t initially realize Hayden even liked her like that. You know, as more than just friends. “I invited her on our first date after she had finished ballet rehearsal one night, and I must not have made it very clear it was going to be a date,” Hayden recalls. “She finally realized it was not our typical friend dinner when I paid the bill and none of our friends showed up to join us as she was expecting.” (Hayden, we like your sense of humor, too.) After graduating, Bridgitt moved to the Queen City for her job while Hayden stayed behind to complete medical school. When her job moved her further away to Charleston, it made the distance even greater, but thanks to weekends here on the beach and basically living in FaceTime, they made it through. Seeing as how the Holy City helped sustain their love, it only made complete and total sense that the duo would choose to tie the knot right here, as well. Their nuptials took place at Trinity United Methodist Church downtown in a family-centric, traditional ceremony. Oh, and the details! My, oh my. Bridgitt’s dress moved like a dream with her every step, and her lacy white Lagerfeld pumps made us sigh with some serious shoe envy. Her bouquet, replete with colorful blooms in soft shades of pink, coral, and white, was perfect for the season. The reception, held at The Cedar Room, featured an elegant table setting with crisp white linens and napkins that echoed the same soft surf-blue of the bridesmaid’s dresses, wedding invitations, and Hayden’s boutonniere. As for the pair now? They reside in Memphis, where Hayden is completing his orthopaedic surgery residency. The two are over the moon to finally be together as husband and wife and happily bid adieu to what they call “the FaceTime versions of ourselves.” Talk about warm fuzzies!
