Brynne & Alex | The Gibbes Museum of Art

It’s hump day, and to help you get through the rest of the week—you. can. do. it.—we’re bringing you all the pretty (and then some) from Brynne and Alex’s Big Day at The Gibbes Museum of Art. Though the couple both attended Clemson University, they didn’t meet until later in Charleston during, as it would pan out, Hurricane Matthew. At the same time that Brynne was working the hospital night shift, Alex went on a run, tripped on debris, and hurt his ankle — don’t worry, he’s all good now. As fate would have it, the two both hopped on Bumble (Alex, while nursing his ankle) and they swiped right on each other. After dating for almost two years, Alex started to make plans to marry his girl. As it goes, Alex’s sweet Pop (his grandpa) moved to Folly Beach after his grandmother passed away and the two men now hang out all the time. Alex was shocked and honored when Pop gave him his grandmother’s ring — check it out, it’s stunning. One Friday afternoon in June, Brynne and Alex headed to Shem Creek for a happy hour double date. They walked around the dock before drinks, taking in the view, and next thing she knew, Alex was down on one knee. He even pulled off a surprise party afterwards which all of Brynne’s family and friends came into town for. The Charleston residents exchanged vows at St. Luke’s Chapel and celebrated the night away at The Gibbes Museum of Art. The duo repped their alma mater all day long by donning their class rings and with a bridal party entrance to the Tiger Rag. Go tigs! Dana Cubbage Weddings did an amazing job of capturing how special the first dance was for Brynne and Alex and the way they look at each other is making our hearts melt. These two hunnies are super strong in their faith and knew immediately that “Prayed For You” by Matt Stell was THE perfect first dance song to twirl to. So, raise your glasses, for it seems Alex will be “tripping” for Brynne for the rest of their lives.
