Bubba, an associate instructor at Iron Yard, and Brelyn, a Garden & Gun graphic designer and former Charleston intern, met at Henry’s on Market Street while attending College of Charleston. In a movie-worthy moment, Bubba beckoned Brelyn over from across the dance floor while Earth, Wind & Fire’s “September” played. After four years together, they decided to go ring shopping and married three months later on the front lawn of The Island House. A reception took place in the backyard overlooking the Stono River. They honeymooned on Amelia Island in Florida before returning to their home on James Island.
