Caroline & Robert | Private Residence

Not everyone is fortunate enough to meet their future spouse as early as middle school, but Caroline and Robert sure lucked out. Although these two grew up together, they only began dating after Robert graduated from Sewanee and while Caroline was a senior at the University of South Carolina. Five years later when Robert and Caroline went flats fishing for redfish, (an activity they frequently enjoy) after missing two fish, Robert suggested Caroline change her fly. As he reached for the box, instead of retrieving the fly, he pulled out out none other than a shiny diamond ring. These darlings hosted their nuptials at St. Michael’s in downtown Charleston, one of the Holy City’s most famous chapels, and the big party post-ceremony took place at Caroline’s stunning family property that dates all the way back to the 1850s. Super sentimental. This duo’s love for the outdoors sparked them to hold their wedding on a day with high tides and a full moon, perfect for sitting outside by the water to watch the sun go down in the evening. And the tent over their dance floor featured a clear roof so guests could still take in all the whimsical beauty of the oak trees overhead. Robert’s hobbies of hunting and fishing inspired their delicious reception eats, courtesy of Cru Catering, including smoked swordfish, venison sliders, and duck empanadas. We want a bite! As for the blushing bride, Caroline slipped out of her pretty gown and into a glitzy, silver flapper dress to dance the night away. And in typical Charleston style, these outdoorsy newlyweds said goodbye to their guests at the end of the evening while floating off by boat into the harbor. Soon after, they embarked on a honeymoon in Cabo filled with, you guess it, fishing and enjoying the scenic views. Cheers to the new Mr. and Mrs. as they sail into marriage!
