Colorful Styled Shoot | The Gadsden House

Thank goodness it’s Friday. Can we get an amen? We aren’t sure about you guys but this week has seemed extra long and we are so happy that it is coming to a close and that the weekend is upon us. To end this busy work week on a high note, we are sharing a styled shoot, but not just any styled shoot. This one is particularly special as it involves not one, not two, but 16 photographers from near and far. And not only does it capture just one theme but it capture a whopping three! What a day this must have been. Gals Dana Cubbage and Taylor Rae got together to produce a workshop of sorts to help budding photographers add to their portfolio and get a little one-on-one training with the experts. Photographers were paired with a partner and were then allotted 40 minutes per station to work some magic behind the lens. Just wait until you see what they captured! So much inspiration to be had here, folks. So get out that pen and paper and start jotting down some notes!

Theme #1: Tropical Oasis

Taylor Rae: “We knew we wanted a punch of color for one tablescape, and what better way to achieve that than tropical?! Because we’re in Charleston, we wanted to feature palm fronds and fun colors, which came to life with the rich velvet linen and the patterned napkins.”

Theme #2: Dusty Blue and Amber

Taylor Rae: “We wanted to create a timeless elegant look for the attendees to photograph. We used a dusty blue velvet linen with a romantic lace overlay to give us a soft look. The amber glassware added a touch of color and contrast to the blue.”

Theme #3: The Classic Blush and Gold

Taylor Rae: “We wanted to make sure we had one very classic look, but we added a modern twist with the geometric gold chairs. The floral arrangements were the focus of this tablescape, and the draping on the wall created an elegant backdrop for photos.”
