Daysy & Russ | The Cedar Room

Happy Tuesday, to all you folks out there as wedding-obsessed as we are here at TWR office. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, the coffee is flowing, and we have a delightful post for you featuring Daysy (the spelling of her name is perfection alone) and her man, Russ. The twosome tied the knot at McLeod Plantation and then cruised on out of there to their reception venue, The Cedar Room, all decked out in colors and florals galore. We’d go into further explanation if we felt it necessary, but bride Daysy has it covered. Hear from her below and check out this gorgeous collection of Clay Austin captured images from their oh-so special day.

The Wedding Row: We hear there is a pretty funny backstory to your first meeting. Do tell.

Daysy: We met the day after Russ’ birthday when he was out celebrating. The day before his actual birthday, he got a call from his grandmother, begging him to come visit her in Lexington, South Carolina. So he drove down to have a birthday dinner with his parents and his grandmother and when he gets down there, grandma is on and on, asking him “When are you are getting married? I need grandbabies!” Russ pays her no mind. She finally says to him, “Well, I’m putting my praying breeches on for you that you find a nice girl to marry” and then the next day we met. Those were some strong praying breeches Jessie Dean had on.

TWR: That story warms our hearts. So, what drew you all to Charleston for your nuptials?

Daysy: One of the main reasons we aimed for Charleston was because we wanted to make it a weekend event for all involved. We wanted our closest friends and family to be there to celebrate our marriage, but we also wanted them to enjoy a weekend getaway in one of the most beautiful cities in the country.

TWR: We can’t argue with that. Now, you went bold for your wedding in terms of shades and patterns.

Daysy: When I was a little girl I never dreamed about what my wedding would one day look like, but I always knew that it had to be colorful. When I sat down with our planner to select the linens, she helped me incorporate lots of fun by way of pattern. I’m not going to lie–I was a little nervous at first but I trusted her and I’m so glad I did.
