Emily & Anthony | The Gadsden House

Believe it or not, produce (yup, apples and oranges!) is what brought Emily and Anthony together. The pair met online and had their first date at the SoWa Market, the Boston equivalent of our 2nd Sunday on King Street here in Charleston. You know, local vendors selling art and vintage knick knacks, dishing out delicious food and beverages—all that fun stuff. Apparently that meet-up went smashingly well as the Boston residents dated for four long years after that. Then, to Emily’s surprise, Anthony proposed by tying the ring to their pooch, Harper. “I didn’t see it at first,” says Emily but that didn’t take long as she quickly realized what Harper was toting around the house and responded with an enthusiastic affirmative. The northerners packed their bags and headed to our shores for their Big Day at The Gadsden House just shy of a year after the proposal. The nuptials, planned by Chauncey Fish of Bouquets and Bowties, were filled with color galore (peek at those Proteas in the bride’s bouquets), sweets aplenty including a pineapple cookie, and the dreamiest outdoor reception we ever did see. Congrats to these newlyweds, who jetted off to Polynesia on a two-week honeymoon.
