Emily & Ashley | Magnolia Plantation & Gardens

Here’s a sweet-as-pie love story for your Monday. These newlyweds first met in college at Furman University after Ashley asked for Emily’s help in their shared computer class. Little did Emily know, Ashley was a computer science major, and she tells us he definitely already knew the difference “between a byte and a bit,” although we admittedly do not. Although it turns out Ashey didn’t need computer help after all—he just wanted to hang with the gal—the study-sesh brought them together, nonetheless. Too cute. Ashley proposed a few years down the road while on a nature cruise in the fjords of New Zealand (talk about a fairy tale), and the lovebirds sealed the deal at Magnolia Plantation. Though they currently live in San Diego, they’ve always had a soft spot for the Carolinas where they both grew up and they hope to soon return to the Holy City and call it home. The ceremony was oh-so pretty, adorned with a wedding crest created specifically for their Big Day. It was filled with symbols representing all of their most precious moments: the image of a Kea bird reminded guests of the two’s engagement in New Zealand, coral embodied their love for the coast, and decorative Magnolia flowers honored their ceremony venue. And we can’t forget about the bubbly! The pair made wet a whistle with some snazzy signature cocktails. An old-fashioned for Ashley (Emily says the drink, like Ashley, is warm and classy) and a sweet blueberry mojito for the blushing bride herself. Let’s raise a glass to these two!
