Jenny & Michael | The Governor Thomas Bennett House

While most gals respond to a proposal with a happy dance and an excited “Yes!”, Jenny said something else when her beau of three years, Michael, knelt down on Valentine’s Day. But before we get to revealing what that something was, you have to hear about this couple’s beginning. Here goes. Jenny, after finishing dinner with friends in Charleston, headed to Moe’s Crosstown Tavern for a nightcap. Finding only one seat available at the bar, she sidled up to it, sat down, and then asked the harmless-looking stranger next to her what live band was performing. That stranger—you may have seen this coming—was none other than Michael and the two hit it off instantly, discussing literature, music, and of course, their fave brews. For their first date, they again talked all night, forgetting to eat at the restaurant and then deciding to head to The Tattooed Moose to quiet their now grumbling stomachs. After late-night greasy grilled cheeses and what we can only guess was more conversation, they two realized that this was nothing short of special. So …  back to where we started. When the time came and Michael was down on one knee (at The Tattooed Moose, once again), instead of answering with an affirmative, Jenny replied, “with all my heart,” and snagged herself a fiancé and the award for cutest response ever. Their Big Day at Governor Thomas Bennett House was just as beguiling with  “black tie creative” attire (guests were free to make of that what they wanted),  a dramatic color scheme, and sophisticated southern fare. Delish! Sending all of our love to these newlyweds.
