Karen & Andy | Lowndes Grove Plantation



Alrighty everyone, we’re kicking off this Friday on a fabulous note. There is so much goodness wrapped up in this waterside wedding and you will be amazed at every last detail. We certainly were. Karen and Andy first met in medical school in New York, introducing themselves at orientation, but didn’t see each other again until meeting up with mutual friends at a bar where later in the night, he asked for her digits. Fast-forward six years and after completing medical school, Andy finally asked Karen to marry him while ice-skating in Central Park during Christmastime. Can you imagine? The twinkling lights, the sky-high scenery, and the snow flurries floating through the air … dreamy. Being Northeasterners (Karen hails from Long Island, New York, and Andy from Boston), the pair always envisioned a destination wedding and it was love at first sight when they toured Lowndes Grove Plantation. Their fabulous wedding planner pulled their inspiration together, combining New York vibes with Texas charm (where they spent most of their time together as a couple during medical training) and created a soft, romantic palette that delighted bride Karen. Now, we’re not sure what we like more, the bacon bar or skillet cornbread sticks from Patrick Properties Hospitality Group, but it goes without saying that the four-tier almond confection with Nutella buttercream took the cake (pun intended). Everything from the stunning florals, to the pink accents, to the fun Filipino and Jewish traditions (the couple danced the hora and Karen wore a necklace made of dollar bills which signified good fortune) made for the most magical day. Sending all the love their way.
