Kylah & Daniel | The Mills House

Happy Monday, ladies and gents. First up on this week’s lineup? An adorable downtown wedding filled to the brim with beauty, sentiment, and lightheartedness. And you know it’s gotta be good when the bride is a planner herself. Neither Kylah or Daniel are from Charleston, (Kylah hails from Louisiana and Daniel from New Jersey) so they figured what better place for their families to meet in the middle, than the romantic Holy City? Plus, according to the bride, Charleston gives off those good ole’ Nola vibes that Kylah says, “felt like home.” The duo, who met at a Honky Tonk bar in Nashville, chose none other than the pretty in pink Mills House because of their oh-so-glamorous courtyard and fountain. “We have a thing for fountains,” says Kylah. Wanting to keep their wedding day as personal and intimate as could be, the pair decided to read their handwritten vows in front of only their parents and bridal party following a ceremony amongst their eighty guests with vows read by the officiant. After vows were swapped and tears were shed, the newlyweds and attendees headed for inside. One “must-have” for the Big Day? “An open bar and tons of food,” says the newly-minted Mrs. We can’t argue with her there. The killer southern cuisine included fried chicken, Portobello sliders, tuna seaweed ,and fruit de mer from High Cotton. Is your mouth watering as much as ours is? And let’s not forget about their wedding cake with waterfall of delectable macarons by the delightful Carmella’s Café and Dessert Bar. Daniel even wore oyster cuff links from a local Charleston Etsy designer that were actually once real live oysters from Sullivan’s Island. See if you can spot them amongst the images below. Congrats you two and safe travels wherever your next adventure takes you.
