Kyleigh & Nick | The William Aiken House

Kyleigh met Nick when she was in Cardiff, Wales, getting her master’s degree. (Her friend had convinced her to give Tinder a shot, and her “first, last, and only Tinder date,” she says, was the born-and-bred Welshman.) When she finished grad school and her visa had expired, she and Nick said a teary goodbye at the airport, where he handed her a card that she wasn’t to open until he visited her in her hometown of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, three months later. She managed to hold out (iron will, people!), and when they were finally together again, he held out a second card. She opened the first, which read “Will you” and the second, which read “marry me?” After a civil ceremony back in Wales (planned in only two weeks by Nick and his father), the couple returned stateside for a full-blown destination wedding in Charleston. The bright yellow walls of The William Aiken House formed the perfect backdrop for all the colorful touches of the Big Day (we can’t get over the groom’s teal suit), and when we asked Kyleigh what her palette was, she replied, “Funny you should ask … there was literally no color scheme. I just knew I wanted a lot of color without it looking like an unintentional circus. I’m a HUGE fan of anything floral and pastel, so I just found things that I like that reminded me of a romantic garden.” No circus here, folks, just the most colorful romance we ever did see.
