Lauren & Bo | The Parsonage

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. Or can you? The old adage implying you can’t have it both ways didn’t ring true with Lauren Margaret Snyder and Robert “Bo” William Bledsoe’s May 1st wedding at The Parsonage in Charleston. While all brides in general go to great pains to select the perfect wedding gown, or might mix it up with a two-in-one number, Lauren actually wore not one, but two stunning wedding gowns.

For the ceremony, Lauren recycled her sister’s Kate McDonald wedding dress, which she had refashioned with an elegant high lace collar. And for the cocktail hour and dinner reception, she slipped into a glamorous Alber Elbaz Lanvin gown, accented with Mignonne Gavigan feather earrings and Aquazzura pom pom pumps. The looks, she says, were inspired by Grace Kelly and classic films like High Society, and the impact was not lost on her groom or their wedding party; she looked stunning in both gowns.

Lauren and Bo’s wedding, overall, was quite a special union. Since their engagement took place in September 2020, they decided not to take the gamble on planning a large wedding. Instead, they opted for an intimate 22-person wedding with only immediate family. “There were no guests to entertain,” says Lauren. “It was just a lively, intimate family dinner.” The festivities, organized by Bouquets & Bowties, included a Lowcountry boil on Friday night in The Parsonage courtyard, an exchange of vows next door at St. Johannes Church, followed by drinks and hors d’oeuvres under café lights. The reception included a six-course seafood dinner by Cru Catering, laid out on a tablescape of blue and white linens, blue chinoiserie vases filled with hydrangeas and baby’s breath, and classic gold candlesticks. “It was even more perfect than we imagined,” says Lauren, “a true family union!” (Keep scrolling to find the wedding vendors below.)
