Liz & Chris | Engagement Session



Here’s how the writer-bride talks about meeting her now-hubs on their wedding site: “Liz and Chris lived in the same apartment complex. The ‘boys upstairs’—as they were lovingly known by the girls in the apartment below—would often play drums and guitars late into the night. True to form, Liz slept through it all. Her roommates however, lost sleep, prompting them to move up one floor and into the adjacent apartment. As fate would have it, that was all that was needed. Liz and Chris have been together since.” Lifetime material, right? All that went down when the pair were in college at the University of South Carolina, and led to some eight years of dating through school and jobs that, for one three-year-stretch, put them at different ends of the Palmetto State. By December 2017, they’d long since settled into the Holy City together, bought a house here, gotten a dog, and set up their life. One night they headed to that tiny little park at Chapel and Elizabeth streets downtown with their dog, Sunny. Sitting on a bench while their dog spazzed and the water splashed, Chris popped the question. For these engagement photos, they wanted to highlight some of their favorite everyday places in Charleston, like Hampton Park. Their photographer, Priscilla Thomas, also suggested gorgeous golden hour shots at the Battery, because it is so Charleston. In their correspondence with Priscilla, Liz wrote, “I just hope to have some photos that capture us being us, just being together, laughing, etc. We just like being around each other, so I think simple is more authentic for us.” We think everyone nailed it and love how effortless everything looks, from his flannel shirt to her sweater and legging combo, and how they seem to look like there’s no camera in sight. Take a cue from these pros, soak up their good vibes, and join us in congratulating the now-newlyweds, who celebrated their Big Day at Lowndes Grove just a few weeks ago.
