Michelle & Patrick | The Gadsden House

Sparks flew a few years back on the Fourth of July in Charleston when Michelle was introduced to Patrick. After what we are assuming was one memorable holiday, and after dating for two-ish years, Patrick was ready to take the next step (one BIG step) at an October getaway with his sweetie in our neighbor above, North Carolina. He knew Michelle was dying to go to Pretty Place (a dreamy chapel overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains) on the drive up, but he kept making excuses for why they should go Sunday instead of Saturday. On the way back to Charleston from Asheville, the pair stopped at Pretty Place to soak up the incredible view. Her beau kept trying to convince Michelle to step out on the ledge with him–for the proposal, of course—but Michelle refused, and almost foiled Patrick’s plans entirely. They both settled for “close to the ledge,” and he did the deed and got down on one knee. Once safely back on terra firma, the duo got to planning and knew The Gadsden House was just the place to host their nuptials and considering the groom-to-be’s hometown is the Holy City, it made complete sense. To tie in all things local, the gentlemen’s lapels were decorated with Sweetgrass flowers and the party took photos at Patrick’s alma mater, the College of Charleston. Everyone kept entertained by sweet flower girl, Rylee, while she was serving laughs to the bridal party and shouting out the trolley windows —those giggles you see in the images were totally genuine.  Kailee DiMeglio Photography captured the most stunning photos of Michelle and her mama, as these two strong ladies walked down the aisle arm in arm. After the ceremony, Michelle strutted into her reception in her ultra-chic and classy midi dress paired with her “something blue” stilettos. Carrie Bradshaw vibes, much? Instead of ending the party, the newlyweds brought the party with them over to Blind Tiger so that guests could celebrate all night long. Congrats to you lovebirds, may those sparks and heat stay warm forever.
