Ryan & Mike | The Creek Club at I’On

When Mike swiped right on Ryan on OkCupid, he inadvertently created their future wedding hashtag: #MikeSwipedRy. And thank goodness these two found each other, because their wedding just goes to show how to make your celebration truly yours. Proof? The guys opted for “groomsmaids” (rather than groomsmen) and welcomed a host of best gal-pals as their attendants; Mike opted for serious flare with a velvet tux jacket in royal blue; and, in lieu of a first dance, Ryan surprised one and all when he pulled out a guitar and serenaded his newly minted spouse. (“He had been practicing for months,” Mike tells us, “and we kept it a secret from 90 percent of our guests, some of whom didn’t even know Ryan could play guitar or sing!”) The fun at the Creek Club at I’On had its classic moments, too, mostly steeped in Southern hospitality. For favors, they commissioned an artist to painted their venue, then had the artwork made into prints for each guest. And the night ended with a nod to Ryan’s New Orleans roots when he and his sweetheart led guests in a second line exit to their vintage getaway car. Nicely done, gentlemen! And bravo to Reese Moore for capturing everything so warmly. Enjoy marching to your own drum, TWR-ers.
