Sarah & Colin | Private Venue

The stars may have aligned when Sarah and Colin met at a popcorn stand in a Charlotte, North Carolina, bar. But it was actually the sun, moon, and earth aligning that saw them to the next step. Confused? Stay with us for a sec. Charleston happens to be one of Sarah’s favorite cities—she vacationed in nearby Hilton Head as a child and is a College of Charleston grad—and a few summers ago, the Holy City was one of the most primetime spots from which to view the once-every-400-years eclipse. The couple had headed to Sullivan’s Island to witness the marvel along with scores of other watchers, and at midday, just as all sunlight disappeared, Colin asked Sarah a very important question. The responses: from Sarah, “Yes!” From the crowd: massive cheering. Now, you’d think they might struggle to top that sort of romance, but trust us, their wedding was utterly divine—perhaps that was a given with nationally renowned event planner Tara Guérard Soirée directing the day? Take perfect weather, a stunning ceremony at Grace Episcopal Cathedral downtown, a cocktail hour overlooking The Battery, a candlelit dinner in a private yacht club, and a sparkler exit led by the band parading out the door, and every artful element melded into one sublime event. It must have all been written in the stars.
