Shelby & Len | Hibernian Hall

Shelby and Len owe a big thank you, really and truly, to Len’s father. How now? After finishing a round of golf together at the Country Club of Charleston, Len’s dad noticed a pretty blonde across the room and being an ever-so-helpful wingman, told his son to strike up conversation with her. That nudge worked and four years later, while visiting Shelby’s parents in Nashville, Len got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to be beside him always. Leading up to that fated ask, Len was a little nervous and we don’t blame him as a proposal is quite the momentous occasion. “He kept dropping things when we were going through airport security, but I just chalked it up to him being nervous about being my dad’s partner in golf tournie,” says Shelby of her hubby’s demeanor hours before. Len obviously pulled himself together in time for the proposal and after, the two set off planning their dream wedding in Len’s hometown of Charleston with the help of Cayleigh Hopkins from The Petal Report. A church ceremony with laughter, love, and a few tears (Shelby says her handkerchief came in handy) was followed by a snazzy reception at Hibernian Hall where the newlyweds brought the house down with their dance moves. “We aren’t exactly dancers, but being on stage with our band was one of my favorites memories of the entire wedding weekend,” Shelby says.
