On Memorial Day weekend 1997, North Carolina native Trent and Charlie, who hails from Walhalla, South Carolina, locked eyes at a bar on King Street, started chatting, and began dating. After 18 and a half years together, the Washington D.C. residents married and celebrated at the Cotton Dock at Boone Hall Plantation.
