Urban Styled Shoot | Poogan’s Courtyard

Wedding Wednesday is in full swing over here at The Wedding Row office and we’ve got a stunning styled shoot to prove it. When photographer Leigh Heyward submitted this gallery to us, it stuck out immediately in all the right ways. Instead of featuring an epic wedding on some sprawling plantation with pastel flowers, princess gowns, and pink galore, (although we certainly adore that, too), it showcased a moodier palette, representative of Charleston’s urban landscape–burgundy for our city’s brick facades, smokey grey for our cobblestone streets, dark blue for our harbor, and mixed metals. “The only rule wedding rule couples should follow is that it’s THEIR day and that there is no wrong way to celebrate starting your life together,” says Leigh and needless to say, we couldn’t agree more. Want to wear flip-flops instead of heels? Go for it! Want to skip more traditional elements like tossing away your bouquet to all the single gals? We vote yes. Prefer your sibling to walk you down the aisle? No problem there! There is no wrong or right when it comes to weddings and what yours looks like. All that matters is that at the end of the day, you’ve married that someone special. Now, can we get an amen?
