To kick off Alex and Michelle’s wedding weekend—a destination fête for the New York pair and their 155 guests—the parents of the groom led a bike tour around Kiawah Island, where they and the couple have vacationed for years. “We saw deer frolicking in the marsh,” says Michelle of the trek, which proved a perfect precursor to their sweet, simple wedding. On the Big Day, the bride—who beamed in Delphine Manivet, jade-hued kitten heels, and borrowed Swarovski crystal headpiece—and groom exchanged vows beneath a birch chuppah made from a family tallis, then retreated with guests to a lightly dressed reception that let the setting serve as the star. “We love the Lowcountry—its beautiful scenery, wildlife, and, of course, the food,” says Michelle. “We wanted to share everything about it with our family and closest friends so they could experience how magical it is.”
