Mark Joye met Rebecca Mann at a work dinner. “A friend of Mark’s put us next to each other as a set up,” says Rebecca, who was in the dark. The pal’s plan worked, and a little more than a year later, the pair were in Mark’s boat headed to Beaufort for Labor Day weekend when he popped the question. Rebecca said “yes,” and soon the couple began makings plans of their own.

Since the two live in the Lowcountry (Mark is a native and Rebecca is a Charleston transplant), they knew that they’d like to have their wedding here, too. After inviting close family and friends to save-the-date, Rebecca and Mark teamed up with Melissa Barton and Leigh Douglas from A Charleston Bride to create a classic reception colored with white and blue hues. Rebecca wanted to make sure no one went hungry at the wedding, so as soon as guests arrived at for the reception at Hibernian Hall, they were greeted with warm lobster bisque and kept dining through the night. One favorite? A special “Chops Salad” Cru Catering created with the chefs at Chops Steakhouse in Atlanta. The dish was just one special touch in an evening full of them. For that, Rebecca thanks her planners. “Knowing Melissa and Leigh had taken care of everything truly made our wedding so fun and relaxing,” Rebecca says, “we never stressed about anything!”
