The relationship between New York residents Taylor Pulling and Scott Salopek evolved in the conventional sort of way—a chance meeting at work, an instant friendship, a New Year’s smooch, and a surprise proposal that included their French bulldog, Albie—but their wedding at was anything but. “I always envisioned something unique, semi-nontraditional, and fully encapsulating,” says Taylor. As for the locale, that was settled from the get-go, as the bride’s family has both a house on Folly Beach and an apartment in downtown Charleston—hideaways the couple frequented during their five years of dating. For the Big Day, the couple hired Loluma Events, which orchestrated a celebration for 70 guests and fully transformed The Cedar Room into a luxe oasis. Bountiful greenery sprinkled throughout and suspended candlelit glass orbs set an enchanting scene, while the bourbon bar (bedecked with a fabulous custom crest) proved a memorable hit. As for the couple’s final thoughts on the event? “Our wedding truly felt like an escape from reality.”

• Upgrade your place settings with table chargers. Taylor and Scott used chargers with gold-leaf. Other ideas? Slabs of marble, agate, vintage silver, or even wooden boards.
