Get Onboard | Custom Airstreams bring creature comforts (and a touch of cool) to even the most remote Lowcountry wedding venues

With birch-wood walls, hardwood floors, and sleek banquettes, ALuminous’ inaugural Airstream (843/819-5859; www.ALuminous-Events.com) gives Charleston couples a hip mobile lounge that can be hauled almost anywhere and customized into a pop-up cigar bar, chic private changing space, or swanky cocktail room for up to 20 people.

ALuminous owner Luke Alejandro, who has 10 more Airstreams in his holdings, has outfitted the first of his fleet with Wi-Fi, flat-screened video screens, a DVD player, and satellite TV in an effort to bring a mod, all-weather, air-conditioned safe house to weddings and events held on rustic Lowcountry plantations and beyond. With retractable awnings and an optional Astroturf patio, the party is a wheel good time. Also on the mobile mod party trend: Roll With It Enterprises (843/732-3436; www.IRollWithIt.com). Owner Geoff Richardson (who also heads Lava Salon) went disco with his wildly lit “Hairstream” trailer that has two hairstyling stations, a bathroom, and lounge. Ideal for beautifying a bridal party at rustic locations, it can also be used for a lounge-on-the-go.
