TREAD LIGHTLY: The flower girls carried bouquets that echoed the soft colors of their pale peach attire.

THE CEREMONY SOUNDTRACK: The Williams Duo, a Charleston-based father-son pair, provided music for the ceremony.

AU NATURALE: Taking cue from the earthy outdoor venue of Runnymede Plantation, moss-covered containers held the ceremony flora.

WRAPPED UP: Jason and his groomsmen sported succulent boutonnieres tied with the same gray as the bridesmaids’ frocks.

DAPER DECORATION: Jason’s boutonniere, a succulent fashioned by A Charleston Bride, popped against his classic J. Crew tuxedo.

FAMILY TRADITION: Sarah Katherine and Jason, who were married by the bride’s father, recited their vows at the base of a 1,000-year-old oak.

TONE ON TONE: A Charleston Bride took a cue from the bride’s Modern Trousseau lace gown to create a textured bouquet of ivory hydrangeas tinged with silver-green Dusty Miller.

LOWCOUNTRY LOVE: Jason, from California, and Lexington-native Sarah Katherine got engaged during a trip to Charleston with both of their families.

DIVE IN: Ivory tablecloths from BBJ Linen, silver-blue napkins, and mercury glass gave the sit-down Southern supper a sense of casual elegance.

SAY HELLO: The signing book sat atop a walnut-stained antique desk that harkened the dark wood appointments throughout the reception.

TAKE A SEAT: With silvery blue and ivory lounge furniture, Sarah Katherine says “the comforts of a beautiful home were brought to the outdoor venue.”

PRETTY PASTELS: Green grass and deep-stained wood in the dining area played up the pale color palette of white, pale pink, and silvery blue.

SOUTHERN SAMPLINGS: Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour accompanied with Southern-style hors d’oeuvres by Cru Catering.

BRIDE’S EYE VIEW: Centerpieces of pink rose, hydrangea, succulent, hypericum berries, and Dusty Miller decorated the tables for the sit-down dinner.

ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE: “We knew that this was a once in a lifetime event, and just really savored the day,” Sarah Katherine says. “We know we’re blessed to have one another and to have this amazing wedding be the start of our lives together.”

Although D.C. residents Sarah Katherine Fagan and Jason Guillian had been good friends for more than a year, it wasn't until a holiday together that Sarah Katherine says sparks flew. The couple got engaged a year and a half later, and, with the help of A Charleston Bride's Carrie Glasscock, planned their Big Day in less than five months. Wanting a simple, Southern event with an ethereal feel, they chose a palette of peach,silver-blue mint, and ivory- a scheme of natural, soft-spoken colors that Sarah Katherine says was right at home amidst the "cool breeze, beautiful skies, and majestic oaks" of Runnymede Plantation.
