Party Time | A Charleston Bride’s industry dinner includes ideas aplenty for your bridal get-togethers

Couples know that Charleston is a hot-spot wedding destination. But Big Day vendors from across the country are getting in on the secret, too. Last year even saw local photographer Betsy Mullinax and Katie Foreman found “Bliss” retreats (networking workshops for luxury wedding pros) here, and now twice a year they team with the city’s finest event folk to entertain some of the country’s best up-and-coming planners. We got a peek at one such party when A Charleston Bride partnered with Event DRS, Cru Catering, Squeeze OnSite, Polished, The Weekend Type, and KT Merry for a 30-person dinner in LulaKate’s bridal atelier. Inspired by local artist Lulie Wallace, whose paintings and home goods are sold in Anthropologie, the ACB women covered chairs in Lulie’s fabrics, commissioned her to paint a fondant cake, and dressed a long table with flowers and a runner of woodblocks in her signature palette. To follow luxe suit, craft a wedding get-together around your own favorite artist’s work.
