Pretty in Pink | Cary Ann Hearst & Michael Trent Robinson; April 28, 2009, Irvin~House Vineyards, Wadmalaw Island

Michael Trent Robinson and Cary Ann Hearst had a lot of rain and a whole lot of soul show up to their wedding at Irvin~House Vineyards on Wadmalaw Island last spring. But drama plus soul make sense for the John’s Island musicians who are bandmates as well as lifemates. The pair, known for putting on a good show, craved an outdoor affair rife with earthy browns, barely there pinks, and crisp whites, plus music, music, music. So Kevin Wagnon of Wonderlust Weddings created a homespun country fête awash in a blush-meets-sepia palette, hired musician friends to serenade the couple, and even accomodated the rain by moving the ceremony into the wine tasting room.“We all snuggled up,” says Cary Ann, who remembers lightning cracking as she kissed Michael Trent. “Mother Nature was an uninvited guest,” she says, “but ultimately she became the life of the party!”
