After a summer of letters and a whirlwind four-month courtship, North Carolina native Allison Clark was swept off her feet by college pal Matt’s mountaintop proposal during a ski trip to Colorado.

The former intern at Kristin Newman Designs turned to her old mentor—along with Heather Barrie of Gathering Floral + Event Design—to create a winsome wedding steeped in “soft, light color tones” and “pure feminine beauty.” Playing barely blush pink against ivory, cameo, and buttercream, the women built a delicately layered palette accentuated with touches of warm, fall gold—all the better to glow in the evening light of Lowndes Grove. Says Allison, “I felt like I’d stepped into a fairy tale.”
