Kristen Simpson & Dan Mirabella

December 7, 2013

Lowndes Grove Plantation

Kristen Simpson may live in the Big Apple these days, but as a native of Murrell’s Inlet, she knows that the best time of year for formalwear in the Lowcountry is when the temps drop. So when she and her now-husband Dan Mirabella planned their December 7, 2013 wedding at Lowndes Grove Plantation, they took advantage of the cool weather and opted for black tie. Enlisting A. Caldwell Events, they went with a wintry palette of gray, silver, cream, and evergreens. “It felt seasonal without being over the top,” says Kristen, “and we were able to stay clean and polished from the beginning.” To soften the setting, candles glowed from every surface and shimmered off the silver finishes throughout the setting. “With our beautifully draped tent, its chandeliers, and Frank Sinatra music,” says Kristen, “plus soft blankets for guests to cozy up in and warm light radiating toward the river, the day could not have turned out more perfectly.”
