Steals & Deals | Score nearly new wedding décor (and duds) at this tag sale

When Charleston residents Rachel Link and Morgan Strenck noticed their little boys’ toys taking over their homes, they knew that the DIY wedding décor from their Big Days had taken over their household storage and had to go. Over a play date, they dreamed up The Bridal Revival, a business that matches shopping brides-to-be with newlyweds looking to offload their barely used loot—from lanterns to apothecary jars, tree-slab cake plates, photo booth props, and on.

“With the increasing cost of weddings and the rise of Pinterest,” says Rachel, “more and more brides are DIY-ing some element of their wedding. We love that but what are you supposed to do with all of the stuff afterward?” Consign it, was her and Morgan’s answer.

Starting this February, the two will facilitate their first-ever sale, and plan several more through the year here and throughout North Carolina, too. At press time, more than 100 consigners and brides-to-be had registered, and images of offered items were set to rollout on Facebook in early 2015. Game, on, budget brides!
