2015 Trend Report
How many ways can you reinvent a classic bridal gown? Many, if the last New York bridal market is your telltale. We’ve rounded up our reigning favorites for 2015, and you can see that subtlety was definitely not the guiding principle this season. Instead, color, corsets, collar-style halters, and cool metallics took over. From there, florals bloomed everywhere via laser-cut appliqués and jacquard fabrics. Tulle and organza shimmered with icy threads and warm, rose-gold embroidery. Slits crept high and necklines plunged daringly low. Crop tops were as plentiful as cutaway bodices and bandeau-styled tops. Detachable skirts and dressy wedding “suits” gave options for getaway girls. Pockets prevailed, boho lines debuted, and second-skin lace gowns slinked by on model after model. The sum total? You want it, you got it—there’s something for every bride this season, for sure.
