The cool season here might not be brutal, but a gal needs a sleeve every now and again! So, inspired by so many of our real-life brides who donned sleek coats, cropped jackets, and stoles of all sorts, we scoured Charleston's best boutiques for the best in bridal coverups. Here are our favorite looks, which pair terrifically with the textured, beaded, and lace gowns that rule the runways now. Hallowed Ground
James Island’s McLeod Plantation Historic Site (www.CCPRC.com/2035/McLeod-Event-Rentals) lies just across the Ashley River from downtown Charleston. The main residence includes separate upstairs bride and groom suites for pre-ceremony dressing and several downstairs gathering rooms for parties. Tents can be erected outside and the new river-front pavilion includes grills, restrooms, and more. Packages including the house, grounds, and pavilion range seasonally from $1,500-$6,000; the pavilion alone is a flat $750.
