A mutual friend helped kick-start a five-year courtship for Madeline, a Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, native, and Sam, who’s from New Zealand. In February 2016, the groom-to-be got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. They invited family and friends to their ceremony and reception at The Island House on John’s Island. Following the festivities, the pair enjoyed a mini-moon in New Orleans. Today the couple calls James Island home.
