While Holy City natives Kendall and Michael met in ninth grade at Academic Magnet, it wasn’t until 2022 that the two matched on a dating app and shared a first date at SEWE. Michael, who works in the accounting department for The Righteous Gemstones, proposed to Kendall, an employee at MUSC, following a Sunday service at St. Philip’s Church in April 2024. Inspired by a Celtic wedding tradition, the couple, who live on James Island, held a reception in the parish hall where guests could write wedding wishes on blessing stones.
