First grade teacher Alex, a native of the Holy City, met Chandler, a public health teacher at the University of South Carolina, at a Gamecock football game when she was a USC student. Following two years of dating, Chandler sneakily proposed during a fake Christmas card photo shoot he had staged at Middleton Place with her family’s help. The pair followed their wedding at First Baptist Church of Charleston, where they’d attended when he was in grad school at The Citadel, with a reception at Hibernian Hall. They reside in Columbia, South Carolina.
