Angel Bond & Brian Lackey

August 31, 2019
Angel and Brian met through friends on the Isle of Palms one Labor Day weekend. Twelve years later, after building a life and a band together—she’s the lead singer of the Nashville-based band the Cusses and he’s its drummer—Brian proposed at sunset on the very same beach. While the pair’s singular style permeated the day at Middleton Place (a musician playing a traditional Indian drum lead guests to the outdoor vows; poufs and oriental rugs stood in for ceremony chairs; cloud-like bundles of baby’s breath, hand-painted in vivid hues, hung over the reception; and the bride exited in a white leather jacket and booties), tradition ruled. “The real reason we were there was to have this beautiful union,” says Angel.
