Bonnie McGoogan & Brooks Holladay

August 1, 2020

When University of Alabama students Bonnie and Brooks met, they were more than 5,000 miles from home studying abroad in Greece. Their immediate friendship led to a romantic first date at a restaurant in Crete. After dating for about five years, Brooks proposed during a walk on the beach while the couple was visiting The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island. Bonnie, now a Charleston-area photographer, and Brooks, a sales executive at BoomTown, were married at Boone Hall Plantation & Gardens. The couple celebrated with a reception at the Cotton Dock—complete with “Roll Tide” headbands for every guest.
