Despite their families being friends for their whole lives, longtime Lowcountry residents Callie and Daniel didn’t share a first date until after college. For five years, the two made happy memories boating on the Edisto River, enjoying the beach at Isle of Palms, and fishing the Wando River. During a cruise to St. Thomas in the spring of 2023, Daniel dropped to one knee on the shore of Sapphire Beach, asking Callie to be his wife. The couple chose a private home for their wedding, adding special touches like using oyster shells from the nearby marsh for the seating charts, closing out the night with dancing, cocktails, and mechanical bull rides.
