Sabrina and C.J. met as students at the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 2015, a romance blossoming halfway through their second year. When C.J. was transferred for an orthodontic residency at MUSC, Sabrina joined him, and the two purchased a home on James Island. On a hot July day in 2021, C.J. surprised his future wife with a proposal at dog-friendly bar The Barrel, with the help of their pooch, Nellie. The two were married at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, followed by a reception at the Historic Rice Mill, celebrating with an oyster bar during a cocktail hour by the water.
