While waiting in line at a Chicago Starbucks, Duncan, who noticed real estate papers in Hilary’s hand, pretended to be interested in selling some of his family’s property to get her number. Five years later at a horse race in Hilary’s native Kentucky, Duncan got down on one knee and proposed to her.
