Holland met Tom as an undergrad at George Washington University during a Halloween party hosted by his fraternity, and their friendship blossomed into a romance. During a trip to the Kennedy Center to see the Alvin Ailey Dance Company, Tom surprised Holland with a ring and a rooftop Champagne toast. The couple, who live in Washington, DC, were married at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, which Holland attended as a child. After the ceremony, the wedding party hopped on a trolley for the reception at Carolina Yacht Club and a nightcap at Blind Tiger.
