Katie, a Spanish teacher, and Evan, a musician, met while they were percussionists in the Wando High School Band. They reconnected in college at University of South Carolina and sparks flew. Evan proposed with an inherited family engagement ring on Sullivan’s Island—at the same spot as their first kiss. They had an intimate wedding on the water in Katie’s parents’ backyard, with a vegan spread for the newlyweds and an oyster roast for family and friends.
