Lilly and Marvin became friends in 2010 while working on a construction site; he was the foreman and she was the administrative assistant. Afterward, they kept in touch while she lived in North Carolina and he was based in South Carolina. In 2017, the pair met up for a weekend in Myrtle Beach, and by 2018, she’d moved to be nearer to her sweetheart. One day while lounging at home he called her Mrs. Rogers.
