Liza Coffey & Robert Byrd

June 9, 2023
Liza met Robert while at a Halloween party. The pair dated for two and a half years while they were students at the University of South Carolina and into Liza’s first teaching job and Robert’s time in law school. On a rainy December day in 2022, Robert dropped to one knee surrounded by flowers and Champagne in the couple’s living room in their downtown Charleston home. The two were wed at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church, moving to Hibernian Hall for dinner, dancing, and cake. Liza and Robert exited in a vintage car amid a shower of white rose petals before heading to The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island for their honeymoon.
