Lydia and Nicholas, both Charleston natives, were longtime friends before starting a relationship in college. Christmas Eve 2017 was a memorable one, as Nicholas got down on one knee and popped the question before a surprise engagement party with family. The sound of a bagpiper playing “Highland Cathedral” filled the Grand Pavilion at Wild Dunes Resort while Lydia walked down the aisle to exchange vows with Nicholas. Guests danced the night away to Emerald Empire Band before the couple said good-bye, driving off in a vintage Mercedes-Benz.
