Mariana Hay and Stephen Avant II

June 27, 2020

Mariana and Stephen met on the front porch of her parent’s house at a Christmas party the family hosted in 2018. About 10 months later, Stephen proposed in that exact spot, with family looking on from the window. While originally planning their wedding for early May, the pandemic led Mariana, creator of the Goldbug jewelry collection, and Stephen, the vice president of commercial lending at South Atlantic Bank, to reschedule and hold a smaller ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with 40 family members in attendance. Fittingly, they held their reception on the lawn of her parent‘s home. The newlyweds honeymooned at The Breakers in Palm Beach.
